Are you hurting today because someone hurt you? Is there anger, bitterness or hatred in your heart toward the person responsible? As a believer you know those feelings are not 'God-honoring.' But that festering splinter in your heart won't go away by itself and so far nothing you have tried has helped. Maybe that attitude is even starting to affect your relationships with others and your walk with God.
Beloved, when you reach the 'saturation of your desperation' you must fall to your knees and cry out to God for liberation. With His Word, which is sharper than any two-edged sword, He will begin to cut away that splinter from your heart. Yes, it may be painful and it may take some time. But what a sweet relief to finally feel the Spirit of the living God wash over your soul, apply the healing balm of forgiveness, and restore your life.
"Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there?" Jeremiah 8:22.
